Overview

The LJBI Flow Cytometry Laboratory houses several multi-user commercial instruments to support the research activities of the Institute and its collaborators. These include analyzers and sorters for the analysis of mammalian cells, bacteria, multicellular organisms, and microsphere arrays. These instruments are available by appointment to trained users.  The Flow Cytometry Lab also houses developmental custom instruments designed for specialized applications.

Developmental Instrumentation

Raman Flow Cytometer
This instrument development project to develop flow cytometers capable of measuring Raman signals and spectra involves modified commercial instruments that measure discrete Raman vibrations as well as a prototype instrument for the analysis of complete optical spectra.

Small Particle Flow Cytometer
Based on the Los Alamos DNA Fragment Sizing Flow Cytometer, this instrument is designed to measure small fluorescence and light scatter signals from particles 1 um in diameter and below.

Access, Training, and Scheduling

Commercial instruments are available to approved users via the online scheduling tool after appropriate training and orientation. Contact the Lab by email to register as a new user.
