Multiplexed Analysis of Serum Antibodies to Influenza Virus
NHRC TCN 09205
Multiplexed analysis of serum antibodies against circulating and vaccine influenza strains will provide an efficient means of screening serum samples to assess exposure. A rapid-exposure screening method would have a significant impact in the fight against pandemic influenza.
The objective of this proposal is to develop a multiplexed assay for the detection of type- and subtype specific anti-influenza antibodies in serum or plasma, transfer serum antibody assays to the Naval Health Research Center for validation on a panel of serum for vaccinated and/or exposed individuals and demonstrate robust, sensitive and specific detection of anti-Influenza A and B specific antibodies, leading to the development of additional assays to differentiate antibodies against emerging influenza A strains and for other respiratory pathogens.
