John A. Frangos is Elected BMES Fellow
John Frangos was elected to the BMES Class of 2010 Fellows.
Fellow status is awarded to Society members who demonstrate exceptional achievements and experience in the field of biomedical engineering, and a record of membership and participation in the Society.
The article “Murine Cerebral Malaria Is Associated with a Vasospasm-Like Microcirculatory Dysfunction, and Survival upon Rescue Treatment Is Markedly Increased by Nimodipine” published by LJBI researchers in the American Journal of Pathology has been rated by Faculty of 1000 Medicine as “Exceptional”.
The National Institute of Biological Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) of National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently awarded more than $6.4 million for the continuation of the Bioengineering Research Partnership (BRP) Raman Flow Cytometry for Drug Discovery and Diagnostics. This multidisciplinary effort, led by LJBI Professor John Nolan, aims to extend the capabilities for multiplexed and multiparameter analysis of cells and cells systems by developing new flow cytometry instrumentation, reagents, and assays. The Partnership also includes scientists at the University of Alberta, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Stanford University as well as several industrial partners.
